Suite in casita at El Lugar ecological resort in Sarapiqui Costa Rica at sunrise sunset Once upon a time, a brilliant man named Gary Douglas wrote an amazing novel titled The Place. It envisioned a world where the conflict we experience in every day life did not exist. When he found the most unspoiled piece of land he'd ever seen, he decided to build a resort where people could come to experience that piece, & he named it El Lugar, Spanish for the Place. The challenges of building in this location were many: an early contractor died early on in the project, the well-meaning environmental laws of Costa Rica presented many bureaucratic challenges, & of course the whole project was conducted in Spasnih, while managed from the owner's location in Houston. Against all odds, the resort is now open & you can visit! This casita, as the free standing accommodations are called, is number 203, & it offers two bedrooms with a separate living/sitting room, with a large balcony with a view of hill & volcano leading off it. The triumph of vision over the obstacles of this reality & those who said It can't be done is evident in this accommodation & indeed, the whole resort. You can experience it for yourself, live, & in the meantime, this print can remind daily of what is possible beyond what you might have imagined.
