These short mugs are handmade on the potter's wheel out of a speckled clay, & glazed with a duo of glazes that let the speckles in the clay freckle through. The soft blue & sand colors of the glazes are inspired by the nearby beautiful beach of Carmel by the Sea on the central coast of California. The shape of the mug is low, creating an interesting contrast between a modern shape & a more classic two tones glaze design. The bottom of the mug is left unglazed to highlight the beauty of the raw material. The handle has an ergonomic shape & is comfortable to hold without being too bulky. These mugs holds 11 ounces of liquid when full to the brim. All glazes are lead free & food safe. The mugs are 2.75 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide. Dishwasher safe, microwave safe.
