'Palais de Glace, Champs Elyses.' This is an original 1924 colour print of a poster, designed by Jules Chret in 1896, advertising the famous ice skating rink, Palais de Glace, in Paris. Quarto-sized sheet from scarce first edition of E.McKnight Kauffer's book, 'The Art of the Poster: Its Origin, Evolution & Purpose'. Published by Cecil Palmer, London (1924) with engraving by the Sun Engraving Co... Printed on coated paper of a good weight, single side only. Measurement is for sheet size, to include image & border. Unmounted. Light sunning to edges with some light marks to surface-please see photo. Please note photos 2 & 3 are for information as to source & do not form part of the sale. This is a genuine 1924 print & not a reproduction. Originally issued as a lithograph & printed as a supplement to the Courrier Francais. Our usual packaging: Beautifully presented in cello bag backed by acid-free card.
