Quarto-sized sheet from scarce first edition of E.McKnight Kauffer's book, 'The Art of the Poster: Its Origin, Evolution & Purpose'. Print of a 1921 lithograph by Publicity Arts. Published by Cecil Palmer, London (1924) with engraving by the Sun Engraving Co... Printed on coated paper of a good weight, single side only. Measurement is for sheet size, to include image & border. Unmounted. Light creases in the border-please see photo. Light sunning to edges. Please note photos 2 & 3 are for information as to source & do not form part of the sale. This is a genuine 1924 print & not a reproduction. A copy of the original is held in the prints & drawings collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum. It was donated by the Underground Electric Railways Company of London & was originally displayed in tube stations around the city. Our usual packaging: Beautifully presented in cello bag backed by acid-free card. Will be also sent in cardboard reinforced DO NOT BEND envelope.
