1924. Print of poster designed by Claud Lovat Fraser in 1920, advertising The Beggar's Opera by John Gay at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith. Quarto-sized sheet from scarce first edition of E.McKnight Kauffer's book, 'The Art of the Poster: Its Origin, Evolution & Purpose'. Published by Cecil Palmer, London (1924) with engraving by the Sun Engraving Co... Printed on coated paper of a good weight, single side only. Measurement is for sheet size, to include image & border. Image size c.8x5.5ins.. Unmounted. Light sunning to edges with light creasing to lower part of sheet. Our usual packaging: Beautifully presented in biodegradable cello bag backed by 250gsm recycled card. Will be also sent in cardboard reinforced DO NOT BEND envelope.
