A lovely vintage collapsible wirework & mesh basket, ideal for use to collect eggs or flowers in. This wirework basket dates from the early to mid 20th Century. With an ingenious design, it lifts up to full size when needed, & collapses down at other times. It's a great item to use around the home & garden, perhaps to collect eggs or flowers in. It is in excellent condition for its age. The handles show a small amount of wear. There are also some small patches of oxidisation to the base of the basket but otherwise it is all quite clean & is in perfect working order. It's a great decorative item which could be put into many uses around the home. Most notably, though, it's an ideal large size to hold eggs fresh from the hen house.
