ROUTWOOD - GLASS VASE Height 28 cm, length 25,5 cm, width 19 cm, : 10 cm These fantastic vases are mouth-blown by the glassblowers directly into the root pieces of the Gamal trees (Gamal Wood) cleared from plantations in Indonesia. Glass & wood fit together so perfectly & harmoniously & the result is such a fantastic unique piece every time. The high heat when the glass is blown in (approx. 1000o C) causes a black burn color to appear on the wood at the connecting surfaces. Small air or particle inclusions in the glass are due to the handcrafting process. The glass part can be easily removed & reattached for cleaning.
