When found, this chest was painted in a thick peach paint which has been carefully stripped back to reveal it's original patina however, some of the paint is still visible, giving the piece a touch of rustic country cottage charm. in good antique condition with wear & tear appropriate for age & use. There is a split visible to the top as shown in the photographs, this has been repaired & does not effect the piece's integrity. The lock is missing, as it the lid to the internal candle box.
