A vivid & beautifully detailed large French handmade tapestry. The tapestry depicts three different types of rare exotic pheasants with incredible plumage in a charming woodland scene. The central bird is a beautiful & very rare Lady Amherst's pheasant, to the right is a Himalayan Monal (the national bird of Nepal) & to the left is another type of Himalayan pheasant known as Temminck's Tragopan. This is a fantastic example of a 1970's kitsch needlepoint work that would have been sold as part of a kit & lovingly handmade in someones spare time to frame in their house. The piece features original 1970s frame which compliments the colour tones of the tapestry. This tapestry has really striking bright colours & a great modern style. It would look fabulous in any living or bedroom. The tapestry is in good vintage condition & has been cleaned. There is some damage to gold gilt frame as expected for the age, this is particularly noticeable on the back top edge of the piece, see photo 9 for reference.
