Description
The LONDON Rustic Top Dining Table is made from solid wood & sits on Industrial style X Frame Legs. We make our tables from new Kiln dried wood to reduce the risk of issues with moisture content changes when the table arrives into your home or business. We plane the joined edges & underneath to get a nice neat joining surface & flat base for the legs to sit on. The planks are joined with a batten system at each end & one in the middle for the larger sizes. The top is orbital sanded to bring out the Rustic look in the wood & make a feature of its character. This brings out the grain & knots as well as some light saw marks from the mill to give it the Rustic & Industrial look we are trying to achieve. We do not use reclaimed wood on our products because of its inconsistency & need for drying over a long period of time which requires huge amounts of time & space. Please be aware of this when you see cheap reclaimed wood products, it is likely they will be made from reclaimed scaffold boards or similar that have not had the time to dry out properly & once they hit your home will dry out over a period of weeks & have severe splitting, twisting & separation occurring. The drying & preparation time to get the reclaimed wood to the correct state for joining all adds to the cost which is why when reclaimed wood is done correctly it will cost more than a new wood option like ours. We prefer to make sure the product we deliver is good quality & not have to organise replacements which is counter productive to the environmentally friendly aspect of using reclaimed wood. We plant a tree for every product we supply & buy our new wood locally to reduce the transportation required. Our product is made to have a Rustic look to it which is more consistent than you would get with reclaimed wood that might have random saw marks, screws, staples in it from its previous life. Our design is still a natural solid material so no table is exactly the same with knots & grain in different locations & it will still have some movement & changes overtime but this is majorly reduced by it being kiln dried in the first place. Finish of Table/Bench Top We use a high quality Hard Wax to apply to the wood to give it a hard wearing but smooth finish. Three colours are available as below Oak - Providing a popular Antique type of look Jacobean - A nice rich & deep look Grey - A modern look becoming very popular Finish of Legs The Legs for the table come in two finishes as standard but can be custom powder coated at an additional cost if a specific colour is desired. Black - This is a standard black finish (see images) Clear Coat - This is a clear coating to protect & highlight the metal (see images) Any Colour - We can match any RAL Colour on request but subject to an additional charge Assembly The legs are provided separately but are very quick & easy to attach to the underside using the wood screws provided.
