This hand-illustrated Johann Sebastian Bach German & English coffee mug would be fun for any musician of classical music fan! The great composer Johann Sebastian Bach, like many musicians nowadays, had a gig for some time performing in a coffee house. It was during his tenure there in the 1730s that he created his famous Coffee Cantata. The Coffee Cantata is about a young lady who insists on having her coffee, even against her father's wishes. Hence this quote: Ah! How sweet coffee tastes, lovelier than a thousand kisses! The quote appears on this mug in English in one side & in the original German on the other. This mug is illustrated with a whimsical 1700s coffee cup that I drew myself, by hand, just the way you would have in Bach's time.
