Vibrant metallic orange bolster pillow made by repurposing a vintage Japanese wedding kimono (Antique Uchikake). Flying cranes over a riot of colour. Blue velvet reverse. Stunning vintage wedding kimono silk Measures 92cm x 31cm / 36.5 x 12.5 approx. Unique edition of 6 Comes with it's own hand foiled tag detailing the edition number Hand-finished, the inside is fully over-locked & lined in cotton for strength & protection Filled with British made luxury feather pad (ethically sourced). HISTORY: This amazing vintage textile is upcycled from a vintage Japanese wedding Kimono (Uchikake) dating from the Mid-Showa period & is in excellent condition. Cranes (Tsuru) represent longevity & are the traditional symbol of marriage. Birds flying over mountains is a very auspicious motif! The reverse is made from a luxury cotton velvet in blue which compliments the textile perfectly & is soft & lovely to touch.
