Made to Order Every piece is 100% made in the USA in a one-woman workshop. This piece features a modern geometric op art design, shown here in a Special Walnut Stain. Alternate stain options are available to choose from. If you would like a variation of the design itself, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss options. To create each item, I rip each piece of lumber down to dowels & then each dowel is individually sanded, stained & left to cure for 1-2 days. Once the dowels have been cut per the design, each piece is scored & then meticulously adhered using clear extra strength wood glue (making each adhesion stronger than the wood itself). When the glue is fully cured, the art piece is trimmed, touched up, & then 4-6 coats of finish is applied. I use matte water-based polyurethane because I find the shine from other finishes too distracting to the eye. The piece is then framed, sanded to a smooth touch, & French cleat hardware is installed for safe & easy hanging.
