Description
This bowl is wheel thrown using Cone 6 Speckled Buff Clay. After the bowl is thrown, a foot ring is tooled at the bottom & then signed & placed in the kiln for bisque firing (Cone 06). After removal from the kiln, it is then decorated using a tape resist method. After the design is applied the appropriate areas are filled in with underglazes & once they have dried these ares are then covered with additional tape. The bowl is then sprayed with a hand formulated Cone 6 White glaze. Once this glaze coat has completly dried, all the tape is removed, & a Clear coat of Cone 6 glaze is sprayed on the piece. The last step in the processes is to fire the bowl to Cone 6 in an electric kiln. After firing & once cooled, the bowl goes into the dishwasher. This bowl is all purpose & is food safe & dishwasher safe. There are no toxins used in the clay or glazes applied to this piece. The bowl measures 11 1/2 across & 2 1/2 in hgt.
