Description
This is a framed lithograph print on board that measures approximately 18.5x19.5. Her signature & date is printed (not signed by hand) at lower right: HERTA BREIT 1924. Second to last photo shows the litho on board. The wooden frame looks like it could be original but I can't be sure. Frame measures about 17 wide & 20.5 tall. Herta Breit was a student of Austrian Franz Cizek, founder of the Child Art Movement & instructor of Juvenile Art Classes at the Kunstgewerbeschule. It is believed that Herta was about 11 years old when she created this image. Frame shows average wear. Backing paper shows much wear as shown. There are tears & taped repairs. There is also what looks like a bit of moisture damage along the bottom, also as shown but it doesn't look like the front of the image is affected. There is, however, soil under the glass. It really does look to be on the glass, though, & not on the print. It looks like the board might be slightly warped. I haven't removed it from the frame. My apologies for the glare & reflection on the glass. If you'd prefer me to ship it without the frame and/or glass, please let me know. Overall the print is in Very Good condition, possibly Excellent. I have one more Herta Breit lithograph that looks really nice when paired with this one. They're shown together in the last photo.
