Hand-stitched Egyptian cotton appliqu pillowcase set. This pillow cover comes in a set of two. These photos were taken in natural light with a 16 pillow insert. I would recommend a large insert for this set. The back has a zipper to easily insert a pillow form (not included). Hand selected by me in the tentmaker marketplace in Cairo, Egypt. The last photo is of our team in the shop, with our tentmaker friends Mohey & Ramy, from October 2022. This piece is from the Khayamiya (tentmakers) district of old Cairo. For over 1,000 years, the tentmakers of Cairo hand-stitched huge panels (some as large as 10 feet x 20 feet!) with elaborately patterned & colorful arabesque designs that were attached to the interior of tents, serving a dual function of shelter & ornament. By popular demand in recent years, the tentmakers started making smaller pieces & pillowcases. This listing is just for the pillowcase (cover) & does not include a pillow insert or any photo props.
