Description
A stunning full length antique French portiere or door curtain. It has been entirely hand made & would have framed a doorway. It is heavy cream colored crochet with a fantastic 3D twisty stem with leaves & flowers & popcorn bobble drops. It has the traditional narrow side sections which have more double popcorn bobble drops. These are sometimes known as cantonniere in France as they frame a doorway or window like a valance or pelmet. It probably dates to the 1920s - 1940s. Dimensions. 48.5 inches wide (123.5 cm) the side panels are 11.5 inches wide (29 cm). The upper section is 21.5 inches deep excluding the drops (54.5 cm) The overall length is 76 inches long including the drops (193 cm) The popcorn drops are 4.5 inches long (11.5 cm) Weight: 830 g This would be really lovely addition to a French inspired or rustic home decor scheme. It is in lovely vintage condition with no breaks in the crochet that I spotted. I have not laundered it but it is clean & ready for use.
