Stunning Elephant Stool 33cms Tall. in very good condition - robust & strong. Almost 70 years old & with continued care it should last another lifetime & beyond. Made of solid wood with a generous thick chunky top & wonderful visual detailing. The surface is deeply hand-carved in a criss-cross pattern within a diamond surround & the elephant's features are absolutely charming. Sometimes these features can look a little austere on other similar items but here he has a gentle, warm face. The Elephant has his trunk up (to bring good luck) & he is in an appealing seated position. Immensely tactile with smooth rounded edges & he even looks great from behind! As shown on photo 5. The patina has mellowed after all these years into graduated shades of honey, caramel & golden-brown which gives a lovely rustic tone. As you would expect, our elephant friend here is heavy & weighs in at 5.5kg. When properly packaged it will be nearer to 7kg & thus he will be carefully dispatched to your home by Royal Mail Tracked & Signed Priority Service. Fully insured door-to-door.
