A beautiful piece of furniture made from solid oak elaborately decorated by hand with a needlepoint & beaded perch. Intended for the Victorian lady to rest her delicate feet after a hard day dealing with the servants or to set down her reading book. Now perfect as an authentic addition to your Victorian home interior or you could of course rest your own delicate feet on it should you wish. The condition is surprisingly good with minimal signs of wear. The plump cushion is decorated with flowers picked out in beads & it sits on 6 squat bun feet. The oak frame has a pleasing stepped design which provides a nice elegant touch & underneath you can see the skilled carpentry undertaken in its construction (shown on the last photo). There is a slight loss to the bead-work but nothing too significant & especially considering this is well over one hundred years old. Measures 12 inches in diameter & 4 inches tall (30 x 10cm) Weighs 2.3kg or circa 5lbs.
