A stoneware mug to enjoy your cuppa in, shaped to make your coffee or tea drinking even more enjoyable. The mug is hand thrown & then allowed to particularly dry. Meanwhile I paint the mugs design in reverse onto paper using coloured slip & underglaze. The picture is then transferred to the mug & pressed into the surface. When the paper is removed most of the design transfers to the mug. Once completely dry the mug is fired, then sanded & a clear glaze is then applied before its final trip to the kiln where it is fired at 1220 degrees. Each mug takes several hours to make for start to finish. Stoneware is a very hardy clay, it retains heat well & is dishwasher & microwave safe. Measurements (all measurements are approximate) Height 8.5 cm Diameter 9 cm (widest point) plus handle Your mug may differ slightly to the one shown here. Please note as it is a handmade item there maybe some small marks etc, which add to the character of the piece.
