Vincent van Gogh - Sunflowers & Irises Christmas ornaments handmade / decoupaged with Rhode Island oysters from Narragansett Bay (Walrus & Carpenter & Aquidneck Island oysters) & Caspari paper cocktail napkins. The shell cup is decoupaged with Caspari napkins featuring famous works Sunflowers & Irises by Vincent van Gogh. The back & edges of the shell are gilded with soft gold paint. The ornaments are sold as singles or sets of 3 (we recommend the set of 3 in order to capture more of the artwork). Choose which hanger type you want from the dropdown menu. Please note each shell is unique & has its own variations. Generally shells with this pattern are in the 4-5in range from hinge to cup edge. About Gilded Oysters I started decoupaging oysters in 2020 as a way to spend some time unplugged while stuck indoors in Newport, RI during quarantine. I quickly realized that they'd make great Christmas ornaments if I drilled a small hole toward the top & added a string or ribbon for hanging. Gilded Oyster oysterments were a big hit with family members & friends, so I decided to open up a shop to bring them to the Etsy community while raising money for ocean-related nonprofits.
