This is an exquisite collector's piece. A handmade oriental accent rug from the 1940s in mint condition. Exquisite craftsmanship by master weavers, a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) & a beautiful design make this a rare find in this condition, with a low even pile. The colors are as vibrant as though they were created yesterday, although they are antique colors that only come from natural & vegetable dyes. The backdrop is a lush currant jam, the central medallion is azure blue & midnight blue, & the floral sprays & leaf & vine motifs are hand-knotted in moss & lime green, pink, peach & yellow, fruit punch, sea green, olive green, & sapphire. This stunning piece can withstand traffic & would make a beautiful accent rug or tapestry.
