A wonderful vintage Margaret Tarrant print with a devotional theme, showing a boy praying in the countryside in the midst of nature, surrounded by the beauty of God's creation. This is sometimes accompanied by a verse from Coleridge, which gives the picture its title 'He Prayeth Best' : 'He prayeth best who loveth best All things both great & small; For the dear God who loveth us He made & loveth all.' There are lambs, rabbits, a squirrel & a song thrush, & a lovely scene of purple hills, a grassy hillside with clumps of heather, & a glimpse of the sea. The print which measures 12 x 9 1/4 or 30cms x 23.5cms, is mounted on board with a black tri,. It is in very good order, with light signs of its age.
