Wheel thrown, hand painted ceramic mugs for each of the Ajah from Robert Jordan's epic fantasy novel series, Wheel of Time. I have all 7 Ajah colors of the Aes Sedai. Red, Blue, Yellow, Grey, White, Green & Brown. Listed below are the responsibilities, duties & major goals of each Ajah. (Rumor has it there is an unspoken 8th glaze color available upon request) The medallions of the Aes Sedai are hand painted with the white flame over washed manganese. All the glaze colors (some colors may vary slightly from the photo) have flux over the top 1/3 to give a flowing visual texture to the color. The interior of the Aes Sedai mugs is glazed midnight blue. Due to the nature & flow of flux & glaze, colors may vary slightly from the images. Each mug holds approx. 16 ounces Each mug is made to order. Please allow a few weeks production time Please choose which Ajah glaze color you would like when you order. The Blue Ajah: The Blue is run by a single woman who wields a great deal of power within her Ajah, & although it is one of the smaller Ajahs,it is perhaps the most influential. The primary focus of the Blue Ajah is to champion worthy causes (those deemed worthy by Aes Sedai standards) & to promote justice. Blues are skilled at political manoeuvring & are also able administrators. More Amyrlins have been raised from the Blue than form any other Ajah. The Red Ajah: The Red's primary goal is to protect the Land from all men who can touch the True Source. They hunt down men who can channel & bring them to the Tower to be gentled - cut off from use of the One Power. Men who are gentled usually die not long after. They refuse to bond any Warders as their purpose makes it difficult for them to trust or work closely with any man. The Red Ajah is the largest of the Ajahs, & is also led by a single very powerful woman. The White Ajah: The White Ajah, unlike the others, avoid both the world & worldly knowledge. Philosophy & logic engross them, & the search for truth in their all consuming goal. They are often cool & aloof, & often seem emotionless. The Green Ajah: Also known as the Battle Ajah, the hold themselves ready for Tarmon Gai'don, the Last Battle with the Dark One. Fierce fighters of Shadowspawn, they are also known for their appreciation of men, a trait fairly rare among the other Ajahs. Green sisters do not believe in having only one Warder. Some have been known to bond up to three or more at one time. This fact is a sometime source of humour among the sisters of the other Ajahs. The Brown Ajah: Forsaking mundane life in general, the sisters of the Brown Ajah are dedicated to seeking & preserving knowledge, & it is for this reason that many think the Brown know nothing of the world outside of books. Unlike the Red & Blue Ajahs, the Brown is run by a ruling council. The Browns are responsible for the preservation of the vast cache of scrolls & books that make up the Tower Library, the largest single repository of knowledge in the Land. Much that is
