This smart table is inspired by late 18th century French designs in particular those of the celebrated ebeniste Adam Weiweiler. Fine decoration such as porcelain has been substituted for carved decoration, producing a satisfactory & respectful revival which may be easier to accommodate in the modern domestic interior than the more courtly elaborate originals. Structurally sound, with patina & wear consistent with use. The looped stretchers have been reinforced overtime, & are very delicate.
