I have always enjoyed photographing flowers. Many years ago I read a series of book by Rex Stout. American crime writer Rex Stout penned a series of books featuring the overweight & eccentric New York private detective Nero Wolfe, a dedicated orchid grower with 10,000 plants in growing rooms on the rooftop of his brownstone building. Orchids became one of my favorite flowers to photograph. When I moved to Arizona, I couldn't believe how beautiful the cactus flowers. You have these tough little or very large plants covered with spikes all over that protect them. They have the most beautiful flowers, from pure white to the most beautiful reds. Unfortunately these flowers don't last very long & you have to able to photograph them. Some cactus flowers bloom & wither within on day while others last much longer.
