This unique ORIGINAL botanical print is handmade using dandelion flowers collected during my walks in a beautiful Sardinian town called Sant'Antioco. Printed on 'Fabriano' watercolour paper, 250gsm & mounted on high-quality, acid-free & ageing-resistant passepartout. Print size 10 x 15cm , 15x20cm mounted & unframed. Each cyanotype print is unique, signed & labelled with info about place, name of the plant used & date of printing. An ideal gift for gardeners, plant lovers & art enthusiasts, can be framed. I'm a ceramic artist, with a passion for plants & the colour blue & I love to be surrounded by nature. While living in Malta in 2021, during the pandemic period I started spending more time with myself & wandering outside in remote places. I would come back home with at least one small flower & put it in a small pot, just to keep the sensation I felt alive. I came across the cyanotype process & was amazed by the result of the combination of this photographic technique & the botanical field. I saw many of my passions come together & decided to expand my creations of Ro Art Ceramics with a new brand of Cyanotype Prints called 'Flora in Blue'. I'm currently doing my prints in Sardinia, in Italy, where I keep collecting & print local flora. I love experimenting with this process which allows me to keep track of the places I visit. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process developed in 1842 by Sir John Herschel, & was popularised by photographer & botanist Anna Atkins. With the use of two chemicals & the sun or UV light there is a reaction that produces the cyan-blue pigment also known as Prussian blue. Some smudges in the back of the print are part of the process. It is dispatched in a cello bag & a hard envelope. The colours you see on your screen may slightly differ from reality. Avoid exposing your cyanotype to direct sunlight, which can cause the print to fade. SHIPPING Europe orders are sent with Poste Italiane & once shipped can take 6-8 working days to arrive.
