Up for sale is this truly stunning original 1930s sleeveless silky floral garden party dress. The dress is fashioned out of a fawn or taupe coloured rayon or acetate taffeta, which is adorned with striking print of large yellow & orange roses. It features a v-neck to the front & a low round neck to the bodice back. It has wide shoulder straps. Three parallel vertical darts to the waist. With matching fabric belt which features a stunning chromed Art Deco rhinestone / paste buckle. It has a bias cut a-line skirt that falls to the mid-calf area, though obviously this depends on your height. It has a wide greyish-blueish net panel to the bottom of the skirt, which is more like a silky fishnet rather than a fine tulle. It fastens with metal snap fastenings studs to the side seam. My mannequin has annoyingly sloping shoulders & doesn't show this stunning dress off to its full potential (photo 2). Please see my other listings for more vintage garments. Fabric: floral rayon or acetate taffeta with blueish-grey silky fishnet panel to the bottom of the skirt, which is trimmed with a zig -zag ruffle in the floral fabric. Art Deco chromed belt buckle with paste stones/ rhinestones. Brand: N/A. Period: 1930s Condition: The fabric is strong & free of holes, rips & tears. I couldn't see any breaks to the net panel to the skirt. There is, however, a mottled blueish hue to fabric to the armpits (photo 8) & back (photo 9) & a patch to the skirt (photograph 10); I personally don't think this is too obvious when worn - it wouldn't stop me from wearing this stunning dress, that's for sure. Two of the rhinestones are missing from one half of the belt buckle. The condition is reflected in the price. Sizing: Approximately a modern UK 8-10 but please see the measurements below for the best idea of fit. As a point of comparison, it is photographed on a UK size 6/8 mannequin.
