A wonderful English Pewter Tankard / Cat & Fiddle / Made in England / Pint Tankard / Pewter Cup / Vintage Tableware / Presentation Tankard The tankard measures 4 3/8 inches high with a base rim diameter of 4 inches. The top has been squashed somewhat but that all adds to the charm. It is still water tight though & holds a full pint. The tankard is engraved on the front Cat & Fiddle To Alan Simmons from his Customers & Staff 1950 - 1954 The Cat & Fiddle is a pub & restaurant just over the Dorset border into Hampshire.. on the edge of the New Forest. The tankard has some marks on, one is sticky label residue which i cannot get to come off. But which are in keeping with the age but the condition is good & it is nice & clean & in fine fettle for the age. It would be a super addition to any collection, excellent display, practical piece or authentic period props. The single-storey, thatched building has been extended at both ends to form a U-shaped building containing a large restaurant & with a long bar set under a heavily-beamed ceiling.
