Royal banner of Scotland wall art, made from reclaimed pine wood, using hand tools only! The painting process for this piece was quiet long (took a few days) & detailed. I carefully sanded/shaped the whole piece, which is made of two pine wood pieces glued together. I carved the design on the wood & then I painted the whole piece with yellow acrylic color & let it dry. After that, I painted over it with yellow ochre & let it dry once more. When it was completely dry, I highlighted all the lines with black paint & black acrylic marker & painted the rest of the design with red & light blue acrylic colors. For the hanging I used a brass gold chain, which think it suits better for historical wall arts like this one here. Finally the two pieces of pine on the back keep the whole piece straight & 1 cm away from the wall, which creates a shadow line on the back. This piece, as a history lover, is definitely one of my favorite artworks so far!
