Description
Presented is an interesting, sterling silver & ebony wood serving spoon made by the Whiting Manufacturing Company during the late 1800s. Although the spoon has a wooden handle, you can see the bottom portion of the handle has the Louis XV pattern scroll work. The Louis XV pattern was patented in 1891 & this is an old production piece. The bowl has a monogram of the initials LEB. The back of the bowl is marked with the Whiting hallmark, sterling & patent 1891. This piece is in excellent condition for its age.
