Presented is a fantastic & heavy sterling silver centerpiece bowl by Shreve, Crump & Low of Boston, Massachusetts. The bowl features beautiful hand engraved floral patterns on the inside surface of the bowl, as well as a heavy ornate separate cast edge of flowers & curlicues. This is a large & weighty piece of silver, & would be an asset to any console or dining table. The usable surface area of the bowl, without the large cast edge, is approximately 8 inches in diameter. The underside of the bowl is stamped with sterling & the hallmark for Shreve, Crump & Low. We have seen an identical piece to this by Howard & Co. of New York, & we strongly believe this to be there work, as Shreve, Crump & Low would have only retailed the piece. The bowl is in excellent condition. The details on the engraving are crisp, & the cast edge is in great shape. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, & no repairs.
