Presented is a wonderful European 800 purity silver pierced serving spoon, dating to around 1890-1925. We believe this piece was made in Switzerland or surrounding areas, but we aren't sure. The bowl of the spoon is decoratively pierced in an intricate, eye-catching design, while the handle is done in a classical round-tipped pattern. The handle is finely engraved on both sides with armorial crests, on one side a griffin rampant in a scroll-edged shield & on the other side a shield topped by a demi-unicorn rampant. This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, & no repairs. The spoon is stamped 800 for the purity of the silver, as well as what is likely a maker or retailer's mark of W. Speiser & a shield shaped stamp that is likely a city mark.
