Description
Presented is a very nice American coin silver serving spoon by Phillip Garrett. This piece dates to circa 1801-1835. This is a large, long-handled spoon, sometimes called a platter or stuffing spoon, & is appropriate for any general serving purpose. The spoon is done in a very simple & clean style. The handle is monogrammed with 'P PH' on the handle. The spoon is quite sturdy & well made, from thick silver. This piece is in great overall condition. There is some surface wear throughout, as this piece has not been buffed. There is a small dent on the back of the bowl, at the tip, which is not visible in the front. There are no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals, & no repairs. The reverse of the stem is hallmarked with 'P. Garrett' for Phillip Garrett of Philadelphia. This spoon is approximately 9 1/4 inches long. This piece weighs 56.1 grams or 1.9 ounces. Antique C1820 American Coin Silver Serving Spoon 9 1/4
