Description
Presented is an antique, Dutch silver serving spoon made during the late 19th century. This piece is a reproduction of a 1720 spoon & there is a hand engraved inscription with that date on the back, surrounded by pretty scrolls & a crown. The ornate, twisted handle has a full figural top featuring angels & Mary holding baby Jesus. The bowl bears the Dutch lion passant for 833 minimum purity silver, the shaft bears the Minerva head duty mark & the top has a date letter E for the year 1890. This piece is in excellent condition, especially for its age & the designs are crisp. There are no damages or repairs. Length: 7 1/2 inches. Weight: 62 grams or 2.2 ounces.
