Deep blue retro coaster. Padstow Sunset range. Melamine coated so heat resistant & easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. Strong & durable due to the eucalyptus board in the middle. Italian dark green baize backing to protect your surfaces (see image above). Makes a great gift. Size: Length 10 x Width 10 x Height 0.32 centimeters or Length 4 x Width 4 x Height 1/4 inches approx . The Process: I chose 3 shades from wood veneers dyed in Italy. They were laser cut into triangles. Each cube was sanded on all sides by hand before being laid in the geometric design. Once dry the whole was gently sanded by hand again before a coating of sealer was applied to bring out the subtle colours of the veneers. The original was then scanned & the image printed onto eucalyptus board. A matt melamine coating was applied to the image to make a quality heat resistant to 140 degree product.
