6 coaster set. Hexagonal. Mid century style. Warm colours from the Exotic Burr range. Easy to wipe clean due to the melamine surface. Durable due to the eucalyptus board in the middle. Dark green baize backing protects your surfaces. Each set wrapped in tissue for a spectacular gift. Size: 115 x 100 x 3.2mm or 4.5 inch x 4 inch approx. Elm, Yew, curly Ash; 2.Walnut (book leafed), Poplar, Brown Ash 3. Lacewood, Birdseye maple, Oak 4. Rosewood, Fir, Vervona 5. Walnut, Burr Oak, Birds Eye Maple 6. Elm, Cherry, Olive. The Process: Ernest selected the burr & decorative wood veneers over a period of 3 years. Putting each one away until he had found enough stunning veneers to use in an assorted set of 6 hexagonal table mats. Once we had selected which 3 to put together in each table mat they were laser cut in the geometric cube design. Each of the cubes was gently sanded & Ernest laid them together onto a large backing board & glued down with the help of a Victoria book press. Once this was dry the 6 originals were gently sanded again & a coating of sealant applied so as to bring out the beauty of the wood veneers. The originals were scanned & printed onto eucalyptus board & a melamine coating was applied to the top. I chose dark green baize backing to protect your surfaces. see last image above. 6 Coaster Set.
