Set of four delicate turquoise flower coasters, made with toughened heatproof glass. The design started life (like all of my pieces) as a millefiori cane - a kaleidoscopic design in clay. A pretty way to protect delicate surfaces from heat & moisture, & also to add a bit of colour & personality to any kitchen or dining table - or even your desk. The table coasters are plenty large enough for large mugs, measuring 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4) & approx 3mm (1/8) thick Four rubber feet lift the glass off your worktop, protecting it from hot items A smart DoodlePippin seal is on the reverse of each coaster, to mark it as an original & unique design Handwash & dry please. The glass surface is tough & hardwearing but the reverse side (which carries the design) will scratch & fade if put through the dishwasher SHIPPING Each drinks coaster is hand-made to order so please allow 3 days making time before the item is shipped. The four coasters will be packaged with coordinating ribbon & gift wrapped in tissue. THE DESIGN I personally hand-print all of my kitchen accessory items at my home studio in Reigate, England, using only my own designs. All my patterns arise from my work as a polymer artist, particularly from the ancient glassworking technique, Millefiori. which I use a lot. Many of my patterns have been compared to those of the famous 19th Century fabric & wallpaper designer William Morris, but millefiori can also produce stunning floral patterns such as this one.
