This unframed art print will be the focal point of any room, especially in the larger sizes. This is an unframed digital print of an original illustration by DOGARTbyKeith (me). We also offer a framed version of this print in the store. This vintage look art series is done in the style of scientific illustrations from The Naturalist's Library, a multi-volume book set published by Sir William Jardine in the 1800's. in my versions, some of the anatomy callouts have been replaced by humorous notes consistent with the breed. These artworks are printed on heavy museum-grade archival paper with top-tier pigmented archival inks & are for indoor display only. This unframed print comes in five sizes, all of which match commonly available off-the-shelf frame sizes. A few of the product images show what the print would look like framed with & without a matte; but this version of THE PRINT DOES NOT COME WITH A FRAME OR MATTE. If you choose to frame this print yourself, here are some tips that may help. FRAMING WITHOUT A MATTE - All print sizes match commonly available picture frame sizes. To frame without a matte, just use the same size frame as the print you order. You can also use a Plexiglas poster display instead of a frame. FRAMING WITH A MATTE - The most important thing to get right when framing with a matte is the matte opening size so the matte doesn't hide any part of the image you want showing. These prints have enough space around the subject area to work with or without a matte & will work with many prepackaged frame/matte combos. Since there are so many matte opening sizes included with off-the-shelf frames, however, we can't guarantee the print will work with the matte included with your frame. To check a matte opening before you buy it, look up the recommended matte opening for your print size in the chart below & take a tape measure to the store. If you intend to tape the print to the backside of the matte, be careful not to get the tape on the printed side of the art, it may tear the printed surface. If the matte you get with an off the shelf frame doesn't work, you can have a custom matte cut at one of the big craft/hobby stores, order a custom matte online, or take the print to a framing shop. If you opt to have a matte cut in a craft/hobby store, be sure to take your print & frame in with you. They won't cut a matte from your dimensions alone.
