ABOUT BOUJAD RUGS These rugs also originate from the Middle Atlas Mountain range of Morocco. What sets them apart is the use of reds, pinks, oranges/tans, and/or purple hues. These rugs also feature irregular geometric patterns where the appeal lies in the uniqueness & designer's native craftsmanship. They are created using the typical knotting techniques practiced by Berber tribes - but with the knot being pulled tighter, the rugs require less wool. This enables the weaver to create the intricate geometric patterns that Boujad rugs are famous for.
