This high quality print is based on a colour-printed, hand-finished stipple engraving entitled P.J REDOUTE, ROSA CENTIFOLIA FOLIACEA ROSIER CENT FEUILLE FOLIACE.Imprimerie DE REMOND., engraved by Langlois (fl.1800s) after an original by Pierre Joseph Redout (1759-1840). Pierre-Joseph Redoute was a painter & botanist from Belgium, known for his watercolours of roses, lilies & other flowers at Malmaison. He was nicknamed the Raphael of flowers & has been called the greatest botanical illustrator of all time. Dimensions - 11'' x 8.9'' (28cm x 23cm) Condition Very good condition.
