This print was created using real snowdrops that I foraged, pressed & printed. This is a process that creates unique camera-less photographs using an old chemical technique called cyanotype. An ideal gift for gardeners, plant lovers & art enthusiasts. Cyanotype prints are real photographs of flowers, using the sun or UV light, to process paper painted with cyanotype chemical. The print turns a gorgeous Prussian blue, & when washed, leaves behind an x-ray image of the flower. Each one of these prints are made to order, so they will differ slightly, but that's the beauty of it - it is a one of handmade product! It's science meets art while painting with sunlight! Each fine grain - heavyweight paper (200g/m^2) is hand cut, hand painted & made fresh to order. I leave a small white border & try to show a little of the brush strokes for extra interest. The prints can be framed or given as a gift. I also sell cyanotype print kits if you would like to make the prints yourself. It's a beautiful way to capture the seasons & the beloved plants in your garden & can be shared with children as a fun activity or done alone as a curious & creative adult who likes to experiment.
