Juncal Natural Reed Wicker Chuspata Authentic Mexican Handwoven Pendant Lamp The Chuspata is a type of aquatic reed/wicker extracted from the shores of Lake Ptzcuaro in Michoacn, Mexico. Before the arrival of the Spanish, only rugs were woven, an element with which the technique was born, but today there is a great variety of products made out fo this unique natural material. The only tool used are the 2 hands of the talented craftsman, once cut it is left to dry for a few hours & then moistened so that it is flexible & does not break in the weaving process. For large pieces, the craftsman relies on a wrought iron structure on which the fiber is woven, in order to make it more resistant & long lasting. Lamp specs: Height: 17.7 Inches Width: 15.7 inches Weight: 2Kg / 4.4 lbs Includes 3 feet 3 inches beige cord (1 meter) & natural wood canopy. Standard UL listed E26 socket included. Chuspata (Reed/Wicker) use & care: The Chuspata tends to be durable & resilient but does require some regular cleaning & overall care to look its best. Natural Chuspata wicker/reed will last longer if it's kept out of direct sunlight. To clean, simply use a soft brush to remove dust. Clean the lamp with a solution of mild dish detergent & warm water, using a sponge or an old toothbrush. Rinse with a clean, damp sponge or rag.
