This is an image of a cluster of a species of green hair algae surrounded by a few other visible faint microbes under the microscope at 100x magnification. A large air bubble trapped under the slide gives the piece more dimension, giving it even more of an otherworldy feeling. Normally in the biological study of such organisms, this slide set-up would be considered a failure because of such an air bubble, but look what a bit of shifted perspective can do! The sample was taken from a freshwater tank containing a whole lot more algae just like it, how beautiful it looks floating in the water spread out like a fluffy green cloud.
