As I make my way down the winding mountain road, the sun is just beginning to set behind the peaks of the Rocky Mountains. I can feel the excitement building as I near the lake, knowing that the sunset is going to be epic. When I finally arrive at the lake, I can see the water shimmering in the golden light of the setting sun. The reflections of the mountains on the surface of the lake are almost otherworldly. I quickly set up my tripod & camera, knowing that I don't have much time to capture this moment. As I snap shot after shot, the air around me is filled with the sounds of the wilderness - the rustling of the trees in the wind, the calls of the birds & animals, & the distant rumble of thunder. The scent of pine & earth fills my nostrils, & the cool mountain air is a welcome relief after the heat of the day. I watch in awe as the sun sinks lower & lower behind the mountains, painting the sky with hues of orange, pink, & purple. It's a sight that I will never forget, & one that I'm grateful to have captured through my lens. As the last rays of sunlight fade away, I pack up my gear & make my way back to my car, already looking forward to my next opportunity to photograph the stunning beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
