My work is pinched or coiled & formed over time, none of my pieces are thrown on a wheel. Not that I am opposed to work thrown on a wheel; I just prefer the slow intentional motion of making a piece one fingerprint at a time. The bowls are pinched from a ball of clay & pulled out with my thumb from the bottom up. The pieces are then allowed a brief period of rest, then pulled out again with my thumb until I reach the desired form. After the desired size & shape is achieved I use a piece of a coconut shell to further shape & trim the bowl.
