A 1960s framed print of the painting By Camille Pissarro depicting a parisian boulevard at night This painting is one of 14 views of the Boulevard Montmartre that Camille Pissarro painted in 1897. Pissarro was fascinated by the patterns created by different types of artificial light - the cool white produced by electric street lamps & the warm yellow emulating from gaslights. Pissarro applied the paint as a patchwork of dashes to emulate the cities shimmering light. Camille Pissarro was born in the West Indies but lived & worked mainly in Paris . He visited London in 1870-71. He was an Impressionist & mainly painted landscapes. This is a charming little print & is surprisingly modernist, with its abstract cityscape & restrained colour pallet. I don't know how true this print is in colour to the original print but it is still vivid & rich still in the 1960s white frame. ready to hang 1960S Framed Print Of Boulevard Montmartre By Camille Pissarro
