If you are sensitive to heat, or like your drinks extra hot - I recommend a handled mug. I do not recommend a handle-less travel mug or a pocket mug. Dark clay with white magnolia pattern & blue glaze - 18ish ounce wheel-thrown pocket/hand-warming mug (between a Starbucks Grande & Venti size). The clay is such a beautiful & clean clay. The glaze is a layered blue. The outside is decorated in a white magnolia pattern. The pocket feels great on your hand, sized to fit small to average-sized hands. Why is this mug so tall? It has to be tall to have enough space to comfortably fit most hands. I have larger hands for a woman & it fits me well. These mugs make a perfect celebratory gift of any kind. Great for the person who is constantly on the go or someone who enjoys cozying up by the fire. Price per mug. Everything is handmade; each one will vary slightly. Each one will vary slightly. The bottom, & any part of the item that needs to touch the kiln shelf when firing, will be unglazed. Glaze can act as a strong adhesive. If glaze is touching anything when it melts, it will stick to that thing forever. oIf an item has more than one piece, they were most likely fired together, for this reason, the areas on the item that are touching will not be glazed (i.e., lid & rim). Slight glaze variations are normal. The glaze I use fires between 2200 & 2500F, depending on the item. Glaze will melt & move when firing. You will see this movement in the piece after the fact. Additionally, I hand-dip everything. Drips & other unique marks made by the glaze will differ from piece to piece & may vary from the one photographed. This is totally normal. I love a handmade look.
