This is a good quality German 800 Silver Serving Spoon with a gilded bowl. It is attractively decorated with flowers & scrolls on both sides of the stem & in the bowl. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century The serving spoon has a broad shallow bowl & may be designed for serving small cakes or pastries. It wouldn't hold very much liquid so almost certainly something dry. It is perfectly usable today or would make a nice addition to any collection. Condition is very good with no dings, dents or damage & only the superficial wear that is to be expected after many years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs. The spoon is 21.7cm / 8.5 long & weighs a substantial 72.2g / 2.54oz of solid silver. The spoon is marked on the back with the crown & crescent for German silver, 800 for 800/1000 grade silver, the German standard at the time & a small makers' mark which unfortunately we've not been able to identify.
