Beautiful interpretation of the natural beauty of the Dandelion Clock. Totally handmade from raw materials, which include wire, brass, lead solder & steel. The stalk is made from steel, which rusts naturally to mimic the aging process of the stalk, whilst the main head is wire-work held together with solder, which will age to a beautiful patina. The fascination of the dandelion is rooted in childhood, lazy summer walks & the myth of telling the time using the pappus of the dandelion clock as it blows in the breeze. A beautiful addition for your garden in all weathers. Each item takes around a week to make, so please bear this in mind when ordering. The stalk can be pushed into the ground, or into drilled wood on raised beds, which enhances the piece to bend in the wind. We would recommend the wood option, as this helps the piece to bob in the wind. The stalk measures 1m. Head dimensions are approx 200mm dia. The height of this piece including the head is approx 1100mm. Each pappus is made up of 14/16 individual pieces of wire. The dandelion will arrive in two packages & the head needs to be attached to the stalk, simply screw it on. This piece is a straight dandelion, with no flying pappus.
